Field Day 2024 is in the books. We’re still gathering the logs and photos, but we already know there were some good times and some issues to address. We will get together to discuss what went right and what went wrong so we can move forward next year and make 2025 the best Field Day ever.

We had a few guests visit us and got some new operators on the air in new modes they hadn’t yet explored. Our major challenge was the cross-station interference, mostly from the digital station. We temporarily solved this issue by limiting the digital station to only part of each hour. This will limit our scores, but it gave the other stations a chance. It also gave the digital operators a chance to chat with guests and answer questions about setting up their own digital station.

The major win this year was Hospitality. Brenda and her team knocked it out of the park with snacks and goodies. The club-hosted dinner was a huge hit, and we plan to repeat that for future Field Day events. We may even be able to make it bigger and better next year.
