The Radio Club of Redmond and Lake Washington Ham Club will be joining together for Field Day 2025. In response to some requests for details, here are a few of the high-level details for your enjoyment.
Location
The RCR Field Day site is on private acreage. The address is:
23802 NE 140th St
Woodinville, WA 98077
Remember, this is a private residence, so please refrain from visiting the site until we are ready for setup.
Planned Operation
We will be setting up on Friday, starting in the morning. We will break around lunch time for some grilled hot dogs, provided by the clubs. The setup involves putting up the antennas, shelters, tables, chairs, generators, power cords, and pretty much everything except the radios which are usually set up Saturday morning. There are still open positions on the setup crews, so if you are able to help on Friday June 27, we would appreciate you signing up.
A Continental breakfast will be served for the crew doing the rest of the setup on Saturday morning. Rolls, fruit, coffee, and juice will give us all the energy needed to last until lunch.
On air operation begins at 11:00am Saturday and ends at 10:59 on Sunday. We will have four stations operating, three stations on HF, and a free VHF station. All stations will be operating whenever there is an operator to work them. There are still many, MANY open shifts for operating the stations, so please signup if you are able. See the details below.
Meals and Hospitality
Following a very successful effort by our Hospitality team, we are going to try to plus it out for 2025. We will have all sorts of snacks and beverages available during the event, and meals for Friday lunch (setup crew only), Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Sunday breakfast, and Sunday lunch (cleanup crew only). We will be putting out an RSVP invitation shortly so we can plan our quantities. We don’t want to run short, but we also don’t want a ton of leftovers. Watch for an email from Brenda (KK7STN) and be sure to RSVP.
Cleanup and Pack out
We are in need of people willing to commit to being available on Sunday to help with taking everything down. We need to secure and store all our antennas, tents, tables, chairs, etc., and return the site to the condition we found it. Last year there were a handful of people helping and it took much longer than it should. With more hands helping the job will go much faster.
