The Lake Washington Ham Club has invited all RCR members to join them at their Rain or Shine event at the Harvey Manning Trailhead on Cougar Mountain. This is a beautiful location with lots to see and do. And of course, lots of friends to chat with.

There are usually plenty of snacks available, but if you want to bring something to share please feel free. There’s also usually coffee, but if you have a preferred morning beverage please bring it along. LWHC will have a VHF/UHF station set up, and the 11am LWHC Health and Wellness Net will be run from the park. For those that think they might want to try their hand at being a Net Control Operator, this could be your chance to grab the mic and jump in. There will be plenty of experienced NCs to help you should you need it.

Radios are not required, but the LWHC repeaters can be used for talk-in should you have questions. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

For those interested in Summits on the Air (SOTA), LWHC has an active SOTA group who will be hiking up to and activating the Cougar Mountain summit after the Rain or Shine. If you want to learn more about SOTA and want to participate in this activity, wear your hiking shoes, bring a hat, and enjoy the trek up the trail to the summit.
