What should I bring to Field Day?

Field Day ’25 is June 28-29, 2025. Mark your calendars.

We’re glad you’re coming to Field Day. To make your day more enjoyable, we recommend you bring along some personal items for your comfort and convenience. Dress for the weather. It can be quite warm during the day, and cool off towards evening.

Each person should have:

  • Your FIeld Day shirts and hats. If you haven’t ordered these yet, there still might be time. Check out the ARRL Field Day Store and get your order in SOON.
  • A sun hat, if you dont’ have a Field Day hat.
  • Sunglasses.
  • A light sweater. Just in case it gets chilly.
  • A folding camp chair. Seating can be limited so having your own chair ensures you will have a place to sit.
  • A water bottle. Bottled water will be available onsite, but a personal water bottle will help keep straight who’s bottle is who’s.
  • Your favorite travel coffee cup. We will have coffee available in the morning on Saturday and Sunday. Paper cups will be available as well. If your cup is large, please consider the others and don’t fill large cups full.
  • We will have a variety of soft drinks and water at the site, but if you have a favorite flavor of soda, bring a 6- or 12-pack along. We can put it in the common ice chest to share, or you can hide it away for your own. Don’t worry, we won’t judge you either way.

For licensed operators:

  • Bring a 2m HT. Our site will be spread out this year, and we will use HT’s to communicate across the site.
  • Tune to 146.46, FM, simplex, no tone, low-power please.

Notes

  • This year’s Field Day will be family friendly. We will not be providing beer or other adult beverages. If desired, you may bring some for your own use. Plan to bring your own ice chest and ice to keep it cold. We won’t be putting these in the common ice chests.
